Origin & History
In the 1970s, Wolfgang Hauck founded Elektroland with his wife in Heidelberg and later became Gaggia's importer for Germany. ECM GmbH followed in 1996. Since 2005, development has been fully based in Germany, after the cooperation with the Italian partner ended.
Positioning
ECM builds high-quality portafilter machines and grinders for ambitious home users and small hospitality. The single boiler and heat exchanger machines are still made in Italy, while the dual boiler Synchronika, the commercial machines and all grinders are made in Germany, according to the maker.
Character & profile
ECM stands for robust build quality, stainless steel housings and classic technology with an E61 brew group that lasts and is easy to maintain.
What to check
